WHAT IS PLATELET-RICH PLASMA (PRP)?

• Platelets are a blood component whose main function is to stop bleeding. Platelets also have granules that, when activated, release growth factors. These growth factors attract more platelets to the area as well as stimulate new collagen production to trigger an array of processes that are beneficial to healing.

• When injected into the skin, PRP increases thickness and elasticity, reduces yellowish skin appearance, and lessens the appearance of wrinkles, acne scars, and stretch marks while maintaining a natural appearance.

 

• PRP injections are prepared by drawing a small amount of the client’s blood and running it through a centrifuge to isolate and concentrate the bloods platelets.
